'82 S or '85S

Which would you choose and why? Same equipment and both minty...

However '82 has 44K miles
The '85 has 84K miles

BOTH are 12A models

They are both base models though the 82 has A/C

I worry about the 85 seats sitting up too high
I had a 85 GSL-SE and did NOT like those seats as they sat much higher than the base model older seats I attributed that to the height adjustable seat of the GSL-SE because it actually raised the seat simply by the mechanism being there..

all things being equal, your choice would be and why?

Thanks for your time
Pete

the 82, has less miles, will have the bigger oil cooler, personally prefer the S2 dash to look at over the S3

I'm in the minority, but I prefer the '84-'85 interior. That being said, I'd go for the '82. Better oil cooler, as has been pointed out, and A/C and a simpler emissions layout weigh heavily in its favor.

i'd prefer the 82 interior, and i like the white over the beige. although you should look at both, condition is important, and you cannot rely on the seller to know anything

If your going to bastardize it, it doesn't matter. If you are going to be respectful and just do like mags and enjoy it go for the 85, it's always nice to have the first or last edition of a model. The interior of the 85 is more durable too. Otherwise as said earlier look them over real good, get them inspected and take the better taken care of car.

Decision has been made!!

Well, being white and with the classic interior AND with 44K miles made it pretty easy actually...
I bought the '82 S with A/C

if you want to see it, just go to eBay and look up completed auctions.

thanks all

Peter
