80' Carb Flooding

The car runs great almost all the time. Recently, it stalled after stopping. After deflooding it worked great again. So while trying to figure out what could have caused it, I noticed that after a while if the key is in the "on" position with the motor not running, gas will start pouring out of all 4 jets. I just recently replaced the fuel filter. Anyone got any ideas?

Jeff,
Would that be the "Air Vent Solenoid" as defined on page 5 in the Glossary of the "mazda carburetor manual 1979-1985.pdf" which can be downloaded by following the link in the 3rd post from the top in this forum by Sgt Fox?

I just checked the solenoid, it works fine. It doesn't seem to have the same problem today. Could it be temperature related?

Maybe it's just sticky due to, yes, temps.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening again?

Of course my answer is: you can remove it easily (three screws) and swap in an aluminum plate with a gasket to be the same thickness as the FBVS was.
