im in your same position and im thinkin:
racing beat exhaust
racing beat suspension package
rims
maybe a body kit

but this is gonna take a long time to do because i have little money. My 79 is probably going to need an engine swap to because its on its way out

well it depends what you really wanna do to the 7. you say youve just finished restoring it... so why not take pride and make it as origional as possible, keep it clean and stock... then get another 7 which you can do all your mods to, cut it up, drill holes here and there, take off all the crap you dont want etc etc

everyone tears apart these cars for power and speed... and i can promise you that ion 10 or 20 years time, and origional will be worth a lot more that one that was modified now.

just a thought

I am with James on this one. 79s are getting to be pretty rare cars. I would stay stock as much as possible unless you are looking to turn this into a race car. I also have a 79 which is in great shape. The only mods that I have done to mine are upgrading the ignition (swap in a dizzy from a 81-85) and a better exhaust. I think keeping the body and interior as near original as possible is the way to go. But that is just my opinion.

Take the spring out of the vacume secondaries and cut it in half. This will increase the throttle response big time. I just did it to mine about a week ago and love the difference it made. Best of all, you can't tell without taking it apart. Looks all stock.

Change the front brake calipers to 80 calipers. The Wedge calipers are crap.
