79 t2 setup

im almost done building the engine for my 79 is a t2 big street port i wonder what tipe of clutch to use , im using comple wiring from and ecu from t2 stock
turbo with a front mount cooler . i wonder if is better to swich to a stand alone sistem and how reliable are they ? i want to drive it everyday ,with out having problems tuning it

clutch will depend on your ultimate setup and tastes. i run an ACT stage 3 and i LOVE it, but i'm sure it's not for everyone. i don't know ... if you plan to keep that stock turbo in there, then maybe you can get away with something milder.

you may want to snoop around the Aftermarket EFI section to get a feel for your options to the stock T2 ECU. someone else cannot make that decision for you. personally, i don't think i'd ever mess with a stock ECU. i'm a firm believer in standalone systems.

ahhhhhh haltech is easy to use and very powerful

as for clutch we've had great success with the stock clutch as far up as almost 300rwhp.
