I have a 79 Rx7 with a metal sun roof that needs a front right hing. As far as I know this is a factory sunroof and not an after markit.

Yes, those are stock body brackets. Not sure if these were used in 79 & 80 or just the first year. The 79 rear flip latch was changed to a screw type mechanism in 1980 and eventually, the front mounts were changed to a tongue and slot arrangement. (80 or 81) You may want to keep an eye out for 79's being parted out. They are universal side to side.

Wayne you could also try.... rx for ur 7..... in arizona I think he had some 79 sunroof bits NOS although he can be pricey at times he is good people. IF he doesn't have it PM me back we probably have one used as I have several 79 parts cars.

 

I have that piece as well as all the sunroof related parts for the 79 in a box in my garage (except the hinges that attach to a glass sunroof, if they are different from the steel top I dont remember). I won't be home tonight but I should be able to send you some pictures by tomorrow evening.
