79 stuck rear brake drum

Hey all, I have a 79 with a seriously stuck rear brake drum. Definitely rusted pads to drum, won’t move a fraction.
Ebrake cable removed, other wheel spins freely. Won’t move even using engine power.
Advise?

On the back side bottom, there are two bolts (cams) that are used to adjust the brakes since the 1979 doesn't have auto-adjusters. Try moving those and see if it gives some room.

Agreed ^^^ this ^^^ those are adjustment cams with lock nuts on them. Loosen the lock nuts and turn the cams that have the square heads. They will move the shoes away from the drums. Sometimes it necessary to use these to collapse the shoes to clear a ridge that sometimes forms on the outside edge of the drums in order to remove them.

Shocking the drums with a large brass or rawhide mallet helps break them loose too. Don't use a dead blow as it absorbs the impact instead of transmitting it.

Had this happen on my 85...tried everything.....finally just put a big 3 jaw puller on it with a big *** slide hammer......destroyed the shoes but was replacing them anyway
