I am looking on buying the glass sunroof for a 79. I want to make sure this is the right one before I get it. He says it wont fit his 84se, so I assume it's a 79. Anyone that can verify this it would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, 80-85 sunroofs are different than 79. so if it fits a 85, it wont fit a 79.

 

I was hoping to keep away the ebay vultures *hehe* But this is where the sunroof is at. It has bigger pics there. I know that if it fits any other year than 79 it won't work, but he says it did NOT fit his 84, so this leads me to hope that it is for a 79.

 

i think that may be a 79 sunroof. if i can remember ill loo at my SA glass sunroof tomorrow when i go to my parents house.

if you can get the dimensions from him today ill measure mine tomorrow.

It could be an aftermarket which would mean it does not fit any factory car.

the top picture looks like the rear pin mount for the 79 , but the two u-shaped mounts look broken on one side on both of them to me . If so, you probably couldn't lock the sunroof down.

the lower pictures won't blowup but they do look like the front mounting bars that slide into the clips on the body.

 

I have a 79 glass roof if you want one...I can put up pics if you want....the latch wont lock, but I have the glass and hinges.

 

Can I take off the lock from the metal one? I don't really want it to go popping up on me

 

I would assume that all that would be different would be the glass vs the metal - I haven't ever seen a metal sun-roof 79 so I cant say for sure. My bet is that it would work though - I'll snap some pics of everything tonight for you to verify.

Is it even a mazda sunroof then? It's on my 79 RX-7 right now...I can take measurements and you can compare
