600cfm holley on automatic
hey i was gonna install a 600cfm holley on my 13b street port and my dad said that it wouldnt work well since im a automatic..... something about low RPM start offs and it getting too much gas ........

sold the FD...kept the FB
I've never seen a 1st gen automatic, but I would imagine that they work similar to other carbed autos in that they have linkage hooked up from the carb to the trans so that when your cruising in a high gear / low rpm and you step on it, the tran will downshift. Without the linkage the trans will probably downshift real crappy.

i pretty much manually shift it all the time..cause other wise i could run faster...so would this help?

BTW, since no one mentioned it 600CFM carb is a little big for a 13B street port.. it is more suited for a bridge.. It will work, but drivability might not be that great..
If you want a holley, look for a RB tuned 550CFM carb, they work fairly well.. OR go with a 48IDA or other appropriatly sized webber.

damn..not excatly what i wanted to hear...... but i leats i came hear b4 i put it on..... you guys been a good help thx.. the shitty part is now i go from spendin under 100 to close to 500 to 1000...
