6 years of sitting, and pulling an engine Qs
Hello all, this is my first post and I had a couple of questions regarding an '81 RX-7.
Question #1, what will this car need to get back on the running again after sitting for 6 years due to a collision. It ran fine before the collision, but do I need to worry about any specific seals, fuel pump, or gas tank corroding?
Question #2, how long would it take to take everything that it takes to make this car run (i.e. fuel tank, engine with accesories, trans)?
I'm hoping to get the whole drivetrain removed in a day and not have to rebuild the engine before I put it into another project, but if that's not possible, I'd like to know why.
Thanks in advance!

As far as the question goes. Refer to the FAQ sticky and the archives for these questions, it has all been covered before and then some.
As far as #2 goes. It depends on your mechanical abilities. I can usually pull a engine and trans together in about 45minutes to a hour tops. The gas tank takes about 15-20 minutes depending it there is rust on the straps. You will want to verify that the motor runs before you put it into your other project though.

Pictures came out HOrribly thanks to my phone handling skills, and the use of the phone in general. I'm giving you guys even the worst shots just in case you need em.
The car is free if I take it tomorrow, but it can't come to my house, so I want to pull the whole drivetrain (which I can take home), and scrap the destroyed body. If I don't take it tomorrow, it goes to the next guy in line.

I think I'm gonna do it.
I'll bring the basic tool set and a sawzall and I think if I start at 8 in the AM, and hope to be done by 4 in the PM so I can get it to the junkers and have it off the trailer.
Wish me luck, and if anyone has any suggestions, speak now.

I have one. If that dash I see in the picture is good. Meaning if it has no cracks, take it.
You don't need a sawzall for anything that you are pulling.
Remember to pull the engine and trans as a unit. Disconnect the exhaust where the front cat meets the exhaust manifold. Easiest way is to remove the hood, remove the radiator and panel(support for the radiator) that sits on top. You can unplug the main harness for the emissions at the driverside firewall and leave the rest attached to everything. The only thing you need to do on the trans is remove the slave cylinder or disconnect the hose that goes to the hardline, remove the shifter from the trans. Drop the crossmember down on the trans, only 2 bolts.
