So on my 84 gsl-se all of a sudden when i try leaving from a stop its super hard to get my car engaged into any gear! Car has 107,000 original miles and has been babied all its life.. So are my syncros magically bad outta nowhere? am i low on fluid?

Thanks for any input!

How does the pedal feel? Any different?

Check the fluid level, there are markings on the reservoir to show the proper level.

Sounds low on fluid or a Slave/Master/Line problem.

Does it shift okay with the engine off?

reservoirs are at appropriate levels.. car is jacked off the ground pretty level and when i put my finger in the fill hole of the tranny i feel fluid.. when i spin the tires they both roll the same direction, but when i do that i hear a grinding noise. when running jacked up in the air car is very hard to get into gear but when it does with the clutch all the way in the wheels will begin to slowly spin then get faster. if i let the clutch out in gear wheels spin then car almost stalls every couple seconds then grabs again... clutch was replaced approx 3 thousand miles ago too...

What do you mean "reservoir(S)?" There is only one clutch reservoir....

Pull the boot back on the slave and see if it's leaking. Even a slow leak will cause problems.

Another thing that can happen is the master cylinder and leak internally. So get a friend and have them press the clutch and measure the throw of the slave/clutch fork.

Where is the grinding noise?

Engine running.... is there a noise clutch in vs clutch out? It's possible something in the throw out bearing has failed.

Still need more diagnosis/info.

my first guess is to a faulty slave cylinder or an internally collapsed clutch hose. as suggested, pull the boot back on the slave cylinder's push rod and inspect for leakage and on the interior firewall, where the rod from the clutch pedal meets the clutch master cylinder, check for leakage or seepage of dot 3 from the clutch master cylinder's seal.

if the hydraulics are in working order, the next thing that can cause an issue as you describe would be a faulty pilot bearing. my first question to rule that as a possible concern would be, is the trans only hard to get in gear with the engine running and do you notice a change when dry shifting with the engine off?

resorvoir singularly sorry. i talked to a couple people and they were saying it may be something with the throw out bearing or maybe a broken or cracked clutch plate that was wedged in there and not letting it disengage properly.. the grinding noise seemed to be coming from the tranny. but last night i got the car back on the ground and started it in gear and dumped the clutch hard a couple times and everything has been fine ever since, but i am going to call the shop that recently replaced my clutch and see what they think and if they could look at it.
