Well, these are my mounts. Pretty solid and running on 10 months of use.

Nice pics bouis! Thanks!
So from what I can see in the last pic, you kept the auto crossmember, hooked it to the 5 speed tranny, and then made up the difference in the chassis mount by using your steel pieces right? If so, then I shouldn't have too much trouble making that.
I was under the impression that you have to do some welding to make the mounts for the swap. Am I wrong? I'm not complaining, cause I could make those mounts up in a jiffy!
Thanks again!

No welding; it really is as easy as it looks.
I used two bolts from the torque converter and some big, flat washers to hold the brackets to the original mounts. On the other end, I used the original tranny hardware, complete with the rubber parts. The only thing added is a locking washer and nut on the top (out of view).
Notice that my mounts push the tranny down 1/4" or so from its proper position [actually it's probably very slightly more] so I've washered the crossmember-to-mount up 1/4" [or actually slightly more, according to my gauge.
That's all there is to it. Real easy.

I mean, I suppose you could weld the mounts to stagger them so there's no difference in height, but putting four washers under the big rubber tranny mount [see them?] works just fine.
Just one more quick question on this bouis. I know you used the auto tranny's crossmember, but which rubber tranny mount did you use? Did you use the one from the auto tranny for this too, or the one that really is supposed to mount a 5 spd tranny. From what I have out in the garage it looks like you could use either one to mount the tranny to the crossmember. Does it matter either way?

ok. I think I'm ready to go for this weekend then.
Gonna get the engine and tranny ready to drop in. I have just about everything rounded up and ready to go. Just have to make some steel pieces for my mounts, and put a new oil pan gasket on my 12A. Can't wait to have that 5 speed shifter sticking up through the car. I can't believe I actually ever got the ***** to do this.
The best part is, I pretty much know how to finish everything already. THanks for all your 24 hr. support Bouis. You basically walked me through this step by step.
I'll post some pics when I get the engine and tranny dropped in.
