Talking Mission Completed...kinda

I re-assembled the parts, and she runs fine, however, the aux . ports still are not operational. The air pump takeoff that JIMMY54 supplied was a bit to noisey for me. It sounded like a 4 cylinder with lots of valve train chatter. I guess I need a block off plate for the ACV, as leaving the ACV port open, you get some wierd noises from there. And the air pump excess shooting out makes its own noise.

SO I will look into another method to get them operating. Perhaps I will wire them open as a test to get a feel for upper end performace that I am missing. Maybe I will use the exhaust back pressure like the original design.

But hey, she's backon the road!

I'm about to head down this same road and was curious as to what, if anything you had decided. At this time I'm planning on cleaning up the actuators, and as much as I am loath to I'll probably bite the bullet and pull off the manifolds and do a proper job (longduck wrote up something I read on the topic a while back that convinced me to do a proper job so it doesn't become a frequent hassle).

Afterwards I'm thinking of getting that mazdatrix header (as my header is the only stock portion of my exhaus system left) and then feeding the exhaust back and hoping it works on par with the original factory setup.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any first hand experiance with a similar setup, do they seem to provide enough pressure to activate fully functional actuators?

Thanks,
Adam

At this point I have the actuators off and the valves in the open position (secured).

Presently I am thinking about tapping into the large (1"+) rubber line that feeds the ACV in order to get the 3+ PSI needed to open the actuators. I need a new gauge as my old one is damaged. Has anyone tried this before?

the Mazdatrix modified RB header works great at making the six port sleves open. I have the Pineapple Racing sleve inserts also.
