4port lim + 6port block

im in the process of putting a t2 lim, rotaryshack uim, and a weber carb on my gslse. i still have the 6port motor and i was wondering, how bad will the flow be if i dont portmatch the manifold to the motor.

in a couple months, i am going to boost it using a stock s5 turbo and manifold, and in the near future (6 months to a year), i will be changing to a t2 motor with the same setup, and i figured i could just not port the manifold in preperation for the future, but i dont want to kill what performance gains i could have gotten if i port the manifold.

opinions, suggestions, whatever you guys can tell me will be appreciated.

just wait until you have the T2 setup. don't start modifying T2 parts for a motor that you're planning to take out of commission in 6 to 12 months anyway.

if you insist on turbocharging the stock motor before then, then do so using parts made for your application.

the 4port t2 manifold fits almost perfectly. the only problem is the ports are different shapes on the front and rear. they have the same shape on the bottom, but they are taller on the block.

the gasket you see is the one that i pulled off the motor when i sold my old intake manifold setup.

im just wondering how bad the flow will really be if i didnt port-match the manifold to the motor. i could get a t2 gasket set and the gasket would line up with the manifold and motor everywhere except the front and rear irons.

Port flow will be terrible but it will technically work.

No it will not!! The SE irons have a ridge around the port (or a recess behind them) where as the s4 6 port do not. If it was a s4 na it would be okay, you'll see when you pull the intake off.

The intake is not the issue, the irons are different
