4k rpm hesitation, need help

what causes hesitation around 4k rpm's ?

only recently (after a 300 mile rally) I'm seeing/feeling hesititation just before 4k, if I take the revs up to 4 and then ease off the throttle when I go to put the gas pedle down it will hesitate until I go about 60% throttle and then it will start picking up rpm's like it should. its really noticible in 2nd gear.

could this be fuel filter related ? or secondary related ? Ignition ? vacumme leak? not too sure my self, any ideas

usually its the fuel filter but this sounds similar to problem my car had. It hesitated at 4k in 3rd gear and wouldnt go past 5k in third. It turned out it the catalytic converter was clogged so i had mine cut out.

change the fuel filter if that doesnt fix it clear your cat out.

15-20K since you replaced a fuel filter, and haven't had to walk. You're a hero.
