48 DHLA question

I cant find a #300 needle valve for my dellorto, as installed by racing beat.
I have a #350. Can I run this size needle valve? anyone have experience with this?

Should work. I think the last time I got a rebuild kit from dellorto.com thats the size that came in the kit and I used it. Been in there for many years now.

That's good news! thanks....So, its not too rich with #350 needle/seat?
How do your plugs look? Im running an early 4port 13B, rebuilt the carb and installed the new #350. Have not run it yet, waiting for accell pump spacer from RB.

installed the carb, runs great, much improved.. after rebuild.. Still a stumble off idle, but perfect otherwise.
rechecked accell pump, can not get anymore travel... 10.3mm or 13/32" I guess just a trade off.

Make sure your fuel pressure is low enough. I drove mine for several years with a stumble until Tim mentioned how he adjusted his pressure regulator. Turn it down until the idle changes. Mine was too high. After I turned it down the stumble was gone and gas mileagle went from 14-15 to 18-20.

Thats why your mileage sucks rocks. It needs to be around 2.5 and trying to force
an EFI pump down that low will eventually kill your pump. You've been warned.

I'd have to agree. The only reason to keep an EFI pump is if you were boosting (so it covers the increased pressure required when under boost).

Since you are NA, you really should look for a low pressure high volume pump like a Carter. Look for the one with 72GPH and 3/8" fittings. They run like 6psi which can more easily be brought down to 2.5 without stressing the pump so hard.

One of the reasons i have stayed EFI is the fuel mileage. Has anyone hooked up the vacuum advance on your aftermarket carb, and if so, did it help with the fuel mileage

Same here. I get better fuel mileage over 55 than at 55.

I love being able to adjust the fuel curves.

Just an update... My car would not run properly with the #350 needle and seat. Went back to the old used #300.. Much better with my particular setup.

Same thing as mine until I turned the fuel pressure regulator down. 350 works great now.

Car now runs great on #300 needle, but only 90 miles on 1/2 tank of gas?
I see a lot of info about pressure regulators. I have stock pump and no regulator.
Which regulator/pump combo is rec for best reliability etc...

I'm using this regulator.

This Carter seems to be a popular pump. I use twin Facets like the original Racing Beat setup.

Thats the exact setup I'm using now. Works great but the pump is noisy.

I also have the dual facets still. Swapped them out with the carter while refurbing my
tank but might just go back to them.

Best price I found was here. 3/8" input and output. More expensive than the Carter when you include all the plumbing to hook them together.
