45 dcoe quick question

hiya,
im installing my sidedraft and am just looking for confirmation of a couple points:
1) will i be eliminating vacuum advance to my distributor?
2) will i link the oil injection metering rod to the carb, or preset it (if so, what preset is optimum?

sorry if these seem a lil obvious to ya, just want to do it right.

my car:
79 12A with racingbeat dual outlet header, collected to single resonator and prima flow muffler; points ignition swapped to stock electronic ignition from 81-85 model.

thanx much- i know i've got a bit of tinkerin to do with the carb jetting. previous posts have been a wealth of info with regards to this- thanx you guys! i love this place already! tom

1. Yes
2. The omp rod connects to the carb.

thanx for the replies guys- im thinkin premix offers easiest solution, the carb link on that side doesnt facilitate an easy link up. blocking plate on oil metering opening? or just cap it off? also, what ratio premix? 50:1? thanx again (gawd i love this place)

about a quart to a tank, or 64:1, but 50:1 wouldn't hurt anything, just alittle richer, and may have to change your spark plug more often.

I have a 45DCOE with the racing beat intake, and I tapped the intake with connections for the Brake Boost hose, the vacumm advance for the distributor, and dual for the omp. So I am still using all the connections.

So, you can have the intake tapped with copper connectors to have the hoses connected or do as the others said....

a quart to a tank is too much, imo.

Most people run one ounce per gallon.

a gallon = 128oz

so 128:1 ratio is the way to go.

I use motul premix which comes in a 1L bottle. I use 400ml (13.5oz) per tank full and that way I get two and a half tanks per bottle.

wow! I guess I've been using way too much! I've been using a quart per fill up, and If I was really broke I'd use 1/2 a quart. well sweet I get to save my self some money! But i do notice the car does idle way smother with a quart per fill up as opposed to half a quart. lol whatever...

heya,
again thanx- went ahead and fabricated a linkage for the omp. came out way sweet! when i get through dialing it all in, i'll post some pics- AND all the #s that worked for me. (stock port 12A with RB header) This is the final step in a long journey of mods to my RX, can't wait to jab that pedal to the floor! have fun, but not TOO much fun <<<< (read: "be safe") The only real question i have is: what the hell took me so long to log in here?......
