4 cylinder and a 12a
4 cylinder and a 12a
Ok i just got back from getting my oil changed and the guy came up and asked me what liter my car was by the way i have a 84 gs with now 49,000 miles. well i told him i don't know and then he said how many cylineders does it have i said it doesn't have any. and he was getting in my face telling me it had to have cylinders. does my car have cylinders or it just a roater???
1136 cc I believe. And no, your car has no pistons. It has 2 rotors, 1 esentric shaft, 2 stationary gears, 6 apex seals, 12 side seals, and a 8 oil seals. Most of us just say that it has 2 rotors for simplicities sake to save the hassle of trying to explain why our cars don't have pistons.
Ask the guy to get your piston rings changed, and when he is looking up the part, laugh...a lot.

For cheap entertainment, call a parts store and ask for a timing belt for an RX7. I have had no less than 3 people tell me "That is a dealer only part".
Of course, it's way more fun to do it in person..................

and like they said...2 rotors [cuz you have a 12a, some have 3 (20b) and even 4 rotors (like in the 787b race car), but usually 2]...if you really wanna know more about the rotary engine...look up online how it works...it is VERY intriguing...and more addictive than crack
