3rd gen motor in 79

Hey just wondering if it been done. i looking at getting a 95 13B and putting it into a 79. Just wondering has anyone done it. Can i get motor mounts or is it going to be custom. What about transmission? Just wondering is it possible to do on a budget. Any help is greatly appreciated.

NOT THIS... hahahaha
sorry man, but it takes A LOT of work to get it into a first gen. (so i have been told). also a good 3rd gen engine isn't cheap either. then you would want to convert it to single turbo, which isn't cheap either. i would look through the thread called "`1st gen turbo" or something like that. it has a lot of info and links on what engines can swap in, and the difficulty.

I would just go with a 13bt from a 2nd gen. Much easier swap. And you can still mod to produce alot of power.

Yeah why go with a 3rd gen motor....it's not like it has any advantages in you case. You can make make decent power with any other 13B with less of a hassle. Less emissions related crap=better.

i was considering that too but i found a 3rd gen motor for 1150. How much are the motor mounts to swap a tii motor? Its a straight bolt on to the 12a tranny? How much power can the 12a tranny and rear hold up?
