3 inch exhaust on 85 SE 13b turbo II

I have an 85 SE that I am in the process of building..I want to do my own 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust and I was wondering where I could get the flange to fit the pipe to the turbo..I was just thinking of getting one made but if there is a supplier with theese I'd rather not go through the hassle..Thanks a bunch for your help guys and thanks for the space..

Check racing beat, they have a lot of flanges. You are talking about a flange for the stock turbo right?

Welcome to the Forum.

Yeah, Racing Beat makes a 3" downpipe for the TII, that some of the other Turbo FB guys have used with success.

If you're going to use any stock 13BT Turbo, then just use the 2.5 downpipe.

Are you using the stock Turbo exhaust manifold?

Are you planning to upgrade turbo's in the future?

I am currently using stock setup until I get the other motor built..I want to do 3 inch because I want to use 2 mufflers and I still want enough flow..I plan on upgrading to either a T-04E or turbonetics turbo mabye as soon as this summer and it may or may not incluse the HKS manifold and WG combo..Have not decided yet..

Sounds good. Make sure you port the **** out of the wastegate, or you're gonna creep boost big time, especially an S4 TII.

You can't really bore out the flange on the turbo to 3", cause the turbine outlet is only 2.5". I'm using the 3" RB DP. They mold the three inch pipe into the flange in such a way that allows you to still access the bolts, while converting to 3" within the first 1" of the pipe. Its well engineered, I would swallow the $125 and get it, it will save you money and time in the long run.

If you go with the HKS manifold and the T-04E you'll have to make a custom job, without question. And I agree with DF, that you need to port the wastegate, if your keeping the stock turbo.

My car is first gen, and I have the RB down pipe. You will not need to modify the down pipe to make it WORK. However, it will hang lower than the frame rail. If the car sits any lower than about 1" from stock you will need to modify the down pipe.

I had to modify mine. I removed 1" from it's vertical hight and I placed three (3) 3/32" pie cuts in the bend of the down pipe to bring up closer to the chasis, and it fits really nice.
