2nd thing broke on Cosmo POS :( Im starting to get pissed

I was just cruising around taking it VERY VERY easy on the car, coming out of target I start the car up, and the car starts pissing 4 quarts of ******* motor oil all over the motor and the ground...

Its all from the passenger side, looks like a oil line? But the top oil line looks fine and the bottom one is on there and is intact... Hope it didnt just blow the oil seal out of the turbo

We'll see... Had the car towed home, so add $35 to the total so far

Signed mucho mucho pissed off

I'd check the oil supply line to the turbo.

DING DING DING, give this man a bud lite, the oil supply line split clean open.. I thought that oil hose would have been tougher than that for 100 miles... But it split clean open...

Spray is off with some Gunk or somehting?

Man that sucks! Sounds like it's time for some braided stainless steel lines.

Don't worry though, it'll all be worth it in the end. There'll always be little probs that need sorting with projects like this I suppose.

Its kinda odd fitting, its a flanged end and some sort of brake line looking fitting on the other end. Wonder if I took stainless steel braided stuff and band clamped it with a machine, if it would work.. Its working perfectly on my oil cooler hoses ..

That sucks man. Engine degreaser should take that oil off. Guess you'll have to replace the air filter if its covered in it.

Probally just spray it out with K & N cleaner, should be OK... Its not soaked, I can still see through it

Mike, a lot of guys around here use the stainless steel autometer braided line (used for gauges) to feed the turbos. It's a -4.

Just a thought for a quick and easy replacement.

Well its flanged on one end and that flared brake fitting looking thing on the other, think stainless braided crimped with a hydralic crimper would do it?

Does it look like a TII one? They have a banjo fitting on the front plate, and a male flare on the other end. Most people use those with a piece of SS line threaded right into the center housing instead of using that 90* piece with the two 12mm bolts.

looks eaxctly like that, but my stock piece from the front side housing doesnt do 2 90's, it comes stright out, thus the reason I had to 1/2 the t2 oil supply line in 1/2 and splice with hose..

Battery is dead in the camcorder, so I cant take picture

If you want to be fancy you could put a fitting on the end of the Cosmo supply line and run some ss line to the turbo.

Yeah could get real fancy like setzep and weld an AN fitting onto the stock banjo part at the front of the motor and run all AN line to the turbo

Just so you know...We had a K&N filter fall off a work bench into an open oil drain pan. It got SOAKED with oil. We just let it drip dry for a while and then used the filter cleaner a couple times (follow the directions, let it dry each time) and it looked fine. We oiled it and stuck it back in the car (85 GSL-SE). Works fine. If anything, Id say the motor oil helps catch the dirt along with the K&N oil you're supposed to use on it, lol.

~T.J.

PS - We also took it out shortly after (a couple weeks) and cleaned it agian just to be sure .

carb clener, berrimans(sp?) flavor gets most stains, oils up. so does brake parts cleaner from orielys, but both probably strip paint so Buyer beware, or something.

engine degreaser sounds like a good shot

ok engine bay is now washed up and drying, the K & N is drying now, getting ready for oil , and the new turbo oil supply line is now on

I only lost 2 1/2 quarts of oil , so that explains why I still had oil pressure Shheeewww, this could have been really really bad.. Not to mention oil will start fires too

So might not be a bad idea to have my fire ext checked out

Oops, that's one of the main reasons I'm running tubing from the front plate all the way to the turbo. It would take 15,400psi to burst my 1/4" .035 wall tubing, think I'm safe?
