Question 2nd gen motor swap into a 1st gen (newbee question please HELP!!!!!)

I know this question has been answered before however, I have check the search and no luck.
Now, I have a 84 se with a 13b that has been converted to carb. The motor has finally gave out and I need another one quick. What I need to know is will a 2nd gen (91) motor bolt directly into the SE or what?
The reason I ask is because someone told me that there is some work invovled in this swap. Something about the exhaust manifold not matching up and there needs to be some cutting done or something.

I trust my fellow rotorheads and need to find out the truth and what I need to do for this swap.

Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx in advance....

All 13B engines for model year 1985 and before mount using the front cover...

2nd gen engines mount using the center housing.

3rd's mount using the rear cover.

Just swap covers, that's most of your work.

Since you're not using the turbo engine, you won't have to mess with the drivertrain... Use your GSL-SE intake and exhaust manifolds and engien accessories to maintain compatability with everything else. (IE Fuel system, exhaust, etc.)

You will have to do some work to get the GSL-SE lower intake manifold to match up to the block.
the exahaust will work fine
there are some pix of a GSL-SE gasket on an 86 manifold here

the 91 will work a bit better, but still need some work
