This is the website! lol. All you have to do is use the search function and you will find more than you need on this subject.

Others will now come along and alternate between welcoming you to the forum, and beating you about the head and shoulders for not reading the FAQ section, using the search function, etc.

Enjoy your stay with us...

Its almost a drop in job......the wrench turning and modding is minimal to get it installed into the 1st gen chassis.
Getting the EFI's fuel and electrical systems sorted out is the most difficult part......not that its all that difficult, if you know what your doing.Plenty have done it succesfully,Ive done two on my 84.

If you spend some time reading and learning, youll have it all figured out.Its been covered a ga-zillion times, everything you need to know is here.Once the swap is underway, then you can hit us with specific questions,as the problems present themselves.

Why not do a Ford 429 Intersceptor motor instead?
It'll cost a lot less.

While it's not a direct "drop-in", it's more easily possible than some other swaps are (ie: 3rd gen swap is a popular question asked around here but it's so much of a PITA it's not usually feasible).

There's a lot of great info lying around scattered through this section and its archive. You'll have to do quite a bit of reading and searching, but if you're considering a swap like this it makes sense that you'd have to spend quite a bit of time becoming familiar with both engines and how things work.

Welcome to the forum.

My words of advice are that since there are a lot of questions that are re-asked time and again, alot of stuff has been covered before. It might take a little digging but it's there. If you can't find it, just make sure your thread asks a very specific question and that you mention what you've already done to locate the information. That will earn you more respect (the fact that you're trying, not just looking for a free regurgitation of information we have already typed because you're too lazy to look for it), and you'll get much better responses that way.

Have fun, these cars are awesome little projects to work on, and 2nd gen swaps are a great way to pick up some more power without diverging from the rotary spirit of the car or spending a fortune.
