2nd gen igniters

Anyone know if 2nd gen igniters will work for a '80 SA. Did I search but couldn't find anything. Thanks

They won't work if hooked to the stock dizzy long wires from the pickups. 2nd gen ignitors require a 5v square wave digital signal from an ECU.

Eh, its not a bolt on...oh well I guess I will keep searching for an exact replacement for mine. Anyone know any good sources other than car-part.com?

What about the GM HEI modules? Won't those work as well? Search on HEI on this forum.

Yep, that's what I'm looking into. Everyone pulled them out of the junkyards here and I'm having a hard time trying to get someone on car-part.com to ship one to me.

2nd gen coils can be used in a first gen. You will likely need a couple more pieces than just the coils thou.
