2nd gen ecu in turbo 1st gen?

Ok, so my project right now is j brigdeporting my gsl se and making it turbo. I'm putting a 91 turbo on it and I wanted to know if it was possible to use a 2nd gen ECU. The two housings that im going to be using are turbo 2 so i wanted to if i could use the 2nd gen ecu or do i have to buy an aftermarket ecu? I have everything I need to put the turbo onto the 1st gen.

Sure/ Remove the Se ECU. Get the S5 TII ECU and passenger side wiring harness. Put all the appropriate sensors and what not on the Motor and wire it in.

Please clarify.......

Are you porting TurboII housings to use on your GSL-SE engine?
If so,this will not work since all 2nd gen and later engines moved their water seal grooves from the rotor housings,to the irons.

If your gonna try to run a 2nd gen ECU,then it will basically have to be a full 2nd gen engine swap.In that case, theres little reason to retain any of the GSL-SE engine components. Its well worth the work, although the stock ECU is hardly the best candidate for a J-port turbo setup thats gonna idle like sh*t and make tons more power and boost than a stock engine. The stock turbo is also gonna be weak at best.Boost it gonna fall very flat in the upper revs, when all that secondary port volume starts to open up.Stock turbos have small compressors, good for only about 10-12psi on stock or small streetports.

I think you need to rethink your project and do some more research.

yes, more research is definitely needed, as stated before. a stock ECU is going to **** itself with a J-Bridge. the stock turbo is not going support that engine in even a remotely efficient manner.

if this is truly the setup you want, then get a T2 motor and start there. you'll need to size an appropriate turbo and go standalone if you plan to make it work AND last.
