2gcdfis wiring question

recently ordered a coil from a member online. It was already pre wired but looks to be backwards on the ignitor wires. Should this matter? Also the ground wire from the ignitor is split off to ground the coil as well. Could this cause any problems?

I was useing this sight as a refrence.

That looks all wrong. Is that red wire attached to the metal backing? If so, you need to disconnect it. Basically you want & wire going through the resistor to its terminal and the other going directly to the terminal.

What I mean, is that you could:
12v --> resistor --> coil +
coil - from stock --> 2nd gen -

or
12v --> coil +
coil - from stock --> resistor --> 2nd gen -

No the red wire is attached to the bottom of the igniter. It was FBII's coil I guess U two had spoke about a while ago and determined it was wired ok...

That is better. It looks like you have it connected to the -. It would probably be easier to put it on the + and connect 12v to the tan wire. You can then connect the - wire from the stock coil to the - on the 2nd gen coil.

That white thing is called the ballast resistor. The ignitor is missing from your coil.

So if it's just a ballast its not directional right? So the way it is wired should work fine? I guess it worked fine the way it was wired on FBII's car I just wanted to double check.

Thanks...

Yes, it is not directional. It doesn't matter what side the resistor is on. You can wire inline to the + terminal or the - terminal. It just should be in the circuit. Some have ran without the ballast without problems. I would keep it just in case, though.
