You'll need to use the top thermostat cover from your GSL-SE. Also you'll need to tap and plug off the stud hole for the water pump and run a bolt or a stud into that end so you can hook on the alternator bracket. I'm using a 1st gen water pump housing gasket, and a TII water pump gasket.

well when putting in my motor, i had some clearance issues with the S5 water pump housing I was using and my 12a front cover.
You just need to grind away some of the housing, and a little bit off the frontcover it should fit like a charm.
and heres the thing that nobody will believe, my stock 12a radiator hoses worked while using the 89+ water pump housing!
