227000Kms later

I posted a couple of these pics in the regional Canadian forum about a month back but I thought I'd share these with the general forum as well.

A bit of damage after 227,000 kilometers.

Yeah, I think all 12a's decide to blow up when they have about 220-230KM. Most of the one' I've heard about including my last one blew up in that range.

Damn don't tell me that. I don't have all the parts for my "Ultimate Streetable 12a" yet and my current engine has like 220,000km on it

I'm pretty sure the 12A in my 82 was original and had 275 000 KM on it before it popped. The insides didn't look nearly as bad either.

I should of mentioned this in the original post - and not that it makes much of a difference...but it's actually a 13B (85 SE).

For the rebuild: resurfaced irons, all new seals and springs, street ported intakes with t2 housings and exhaust ports. New water & oil pump. Oh...and a pretty paint job.

Should be good for another 200K (fingers crossed).
