225/45/15's?
while searching for tire sizes, i ran accross someone saying that 225/50/15's rub when on the breaks.. well 225/45/15's are closer to the stock height anyways.. anyone tried them to know if they work..
what about 215/45/15?
(this is going on an se, on 15x7 in wheels).
i am trying to figure out if it is worth going larger than 205/50/15's on my new tires.... any thoughts.

I dont have that size, but I have 205/50/r15s on kosie k1s
there is less than a fingers width of clearance between the tire and the spring so I dont think a 225 will work.
I think you can fit that in the back but Im not sure.
I can tell you that the side of the tire is even with the wheel arch and it doesnt rub under any conditions.

For my money, I think some 195 50 15's (just like are on my Miata hehe) would be perfect for the 1gen. I don't think it needs any more tire than that (for the street anyway) and anything above and beyond is causing more rolling resistance than it's worth ... just my opinion...

yeah but 195s will look too streched for a 7" wheel, imho.
too low-rider-ish.

205/50/15's are perfect on 15x7 wheels. 225's will not only rub but also have lots of sidewall flex, adverse handling, etc. Tires on wheels and like shoes on your feet. Wear only the correct size then no problems.

You can go bigger than 205 on the back but the fronts will probably rub on the strut especially if you have a bit of negative camber. I have 195's on the front and 215's on the back.

195/50-15 Front
225/50-15 Rear
Yokohama AVS
No problems at all, but the rear tires look really fat from the side. I think the next set of tires will be either Proxes or S-03, 195/45 and 225/45 respectively.
Wheels are ROH 15x7, one of them bent
