Cool 2 first gens

Ok, well I just found 2 first gens in the back of this guys yard and asked him if he wants to get rid of them, and he said he would and I'd like to know how much I should offer him, any suggestions?
One is supposed to have a race engine in it, but has never been started. The other I am unsure of. I don't know what year they are or model, but I do know they both have the 12A carb engine. He purchased both for $1000 and is not looking to get that price. The bodies look clean and I took a quick look at the interior and everything looks decent. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you might be able to save them both, or atleast make one good one from the two of them.

The paint on that red one looks just like mine did when I got it. A little McGuire's paint cleaner and a lot of elbow grease and she'll clean up nicely. Nice find man!

Well im also building a rx2 with a 13b n/a in it and if i can't save both, then i will build one then part out the other and save some of the parts for my duce. The red one is kind of a 50/50 lol when it was painted thay painted it all even the chrome lol but with a little love i think i can do it. I would love to keep one stock and full mod the other one so will see how it goes and I will keep you all in touch.

Not to be a smart ***, but notice all the dust on the motor in the black one?

That's also ignoring it doesn't have a battery.

they are nice fix'er ups, i mean im with the rest of the guys, the red one looks good, but sitting so long could cause alot of problems, be sure to ask him how long they been sitting and when they were last started.

i think 500 for the both is a good deal.

you could part out 1 and get that amount
