I pre-mix in my REPU, I put about 50cc in per 12 gallon fill up (about 300:1). I put in a little more if I am going to be driving hard. If you think about how much the OMP dumps in, it is less than a quart per 3000 mile oil change in my experience. assuming I get about 15 miles per gallon that is 200 gallons of gas which would be about an 800:1 (200 gallons/.25) mixture on average. You guys that put in 16oz per fill up are way over doing it I think.

Well, I thought I would just share what I do for my '83.

When I installed my RB intake and RB Holley carb on my '83 GSL with a 12a, there was no oil nipple on the carb. So, I disconnected and plugged the OMP and run (2 cycle) premix. I still put normal oil in the car for the cooling.

The ratio that I use is 1 oz of 2 cycle oil for every 1 gallon of gas. I haven't had any problems. Although, your exhaust might smell a tab bit more like oil now.

i have been told from a fairly reputable rx-7 sorce that it is highly recomendeed to add 100:1 ratio for daily driving and 50:1 for racing. this is what i'm going to do. i wouldn't go disconnecting the metreing pump either. its just a little extra help for the apex seals. also it is a 2cycle engine or som to speak. my buddy uses synthetic 2 cycle with his 3rd gen and i will dothe same when mineruns

these engines are closer to a 2 stroke engine then a piston engine, as the oil is directly injected..... but to say that "this engine is a 2 cycle engine so to speak" is pretty far off id say.

50: 1 is pretty intense, even for racing. I thought daily driving was 125-150 and 100 was for racing. 50 ??? Man that's a quart a tank !

It's not close to a 2-cycle at all. It's in a league of it's own.

50:1 in conjunction with the metering pump? That's way too much for any sort of driving.

Plus there's no point in running both the pump and premix anyway.

Well it is actually similar to a two-stroke in that they both produce one power stroke per rotor/piston per engine revolution.

well yeah thats what i was saying..... it has little similarities with a 2-cycle, but if you HAD to compare, it would be closer to 2-cycle than a piston engine. the only similarities are the direct oil injection in the rotor housing, and the facts that theres ports. but thats where it ends.

So, the correct amount for my car would be? I have the oil ready, but so many of you are giving me different amounts to put in, it's confusing. What is the precise amount to put in? How many oz. of oil per gallon of gas?

I'm not a math genious, so how much exactly is 150:1?

If you have a 16 gallon tank, 1/2 quart (16oz) per fillup is about 128:1 ratio. Put in about 13oz per 16 gallons if you want a ratio of 150:1
