Question 1st gen's ==> a chick magnet??? (back in the day)

I worked on someone's computer yesterday, and when she noticed the car I drove, she said "My husband bought one of those when they were new -- he thought it was a chick magnet."

I know it's a stupid post, but I thought it was pretty funny at the time. I never thought of it as one... maybe then, but not necessarily now.

Anyone have any comments?

If they are polished up all purty with a nice set of wheels, they still are a chick magnet in the right area, If you see BMWs and cadilacs, im guessing noone is gonna be impressed with the 20 year old mazda, but around here a well taken care of firstgen is a babe magnet

Point well taken, n00b.... My girlfriend lives in Frisco, TX (where the population is about 55k, the average age is early 30-something, and the average income is well over $70k anually) and even when I was driving a 95 GMC Safari van about a month ago through there, I was STILL driving the oldest car in that area... now that I have my 1st gen, I have to tell people "It's a classic"

....granted, that still doesn't explain the dent in the rear fenderwell and the noisy exhaust leak.

Go to Chicago, dude... chicks would be drooling all over your car. I know one chick from there that's stationed here at Fairchild... she LOVES them!!! She says they're HUGE there. But... that's just what she said.

Most girls think the car is cool. Even in its age, it still is destinctively a sports car. Girls like sports cars, especially small ones (no offence to the girls on this board, but most don't like large cars).

Had an ex who liked my car because it was original. She always hated how every guy had a "******* mustang or firebird"

Anyway, around here 1st gens get alot of respect. I've had plenty of people stop me and ask me about my car and it's not even that great looking due to some people hitting me car. Point is, it's definitely starting to become a classic and is getting alot more respect.

Women aren't stupid. The over-20 ones that date a guy because of the car he drives know the value of the dollar. A $40,000 Mercedes 4-door sedan trumps a $4000 mint condition GSL-SE every time, ie: it's your INCOME they're interested in. **** them, but don't fall in love with them.

But if young, impressionable, not-yet-sophistcated highschool chicks are your vice you might be in luck--- the 1st gens are dead sexy and these girls love to be seen in them, even if they're not very attracted to the driver.

Are you kidding! Chicks LOVE the 7. Here in Australia they line up for a ride!

Guess it's the whole "exotic" wow it's something different, you don't see that car in every 10 you pass.

I would wager it would've been back in early 80's, and to this day I certainly still get tons of looks from chicks, saying how nice it is.

fb's here are decent babe magnets, provided u dont act like a dumbass ricer
