1st gen rx7 VIN number locations

hey all,
i posted this before but it didnt come up?
I am looking at buying another 1st gen RX7, but believe it may be stolen, have noticed some funny paint/welds upon inspection.
Where would i find all the VIN numbers on the vehicle to cross reference them with eachother and check they match the rego papers?
Also is there anything else i should be checking?
Thanks all.

What year is the car and what do you classify as funny. If post us some more information we might be able to help. the major points you need to know about... Drivers door post data tag early 79s had a riveted metal tag everything else has a sticker vin number other important info and the cars build date....... Under the hood there are 2 on is a screw on data plate. very esay to remove and replace, the second is stampped into the firewall itself this can be right or left side depending on vintage of the car. Also there is a dash data tag from about half way through 79 to 85 this is attached to a removeable part of the dash. early 79s it was riveted to the inner firewall at the windshiled/dash join.

Now having said all this post pictures of your suspicions we can help confirm or deny that there is a problem
