1st gen owners

I've determined that 1st gen owners are the nicest and most helpful. And it gets worse as the gens go up haha. I have 2 1st gens 2 2nd gens and im trying to get a third gens so i have talked to everyone. Do you guys agree?

Yeah, I concur. I have a first gen, and a 13B S4 that I want to put in a second gen after I finish rebuilding it. 2nd Gen guys seem to be at each others thoat a lot more. For anyone who has read through the "Crossdrilled Brakes" thread, then you saw how heated it got. Its like that a lot more in the 2nd Gen section.

Well first and for most I am very proud to be apart of the rotary community, but am even more proud to be apart of the 1st Gen rotary community. Everyone on this site has been more than helpful and very nice...
Long live the rotarys!!

I found some of the 3rd gen guys pretty helpful, and theres a handfull select few in the 2nd gen forum that are cool. But there is way way too much flaming and bullshit floating around in there...

Most of us here are kinda limited and money and find the cheap easy ways out... Most 3rd gen people are 1 of 2 types. 1) There parent bought it for them, and give them $100 if they dont talk to them 2) Older more estabilished crowd that has better paying jobs etc.

Now the 2nd gen forum is about 70% kids that like to talk ****.

This is just my perception... and all the names were changed or omitted to protect the innocent

I agree, people seem less likely to help you with questions on the newer cars. The older gen people seem more intent on learning from each other but the newer gens seem to want to compete against each other or just be jerks to people... I think it is the newness of the cars or possibly because it is more computer and less mechanical.... I dont know

yeah ... i think it's more civilized in here. even with that "cross-drilled" thread, sure, it got hot ... but then it got civilized again. haven't spent much time in the Gen III forum, but yeah i noticed the same things everyone mentioned about the Gen II forum.

Yeah, I'd have to agree more with xfeastonarsex about 1st gen owners just being more laid back and helpful. Hopefully that's never change!

Funny how it works, isn't it?

Definitely some correlation between the cars and their owners. Not saying that there aren't any cool 2nd-gen or 3rd-gen owners (there are, and I'm fortunate enough to have met some of 'em) but come on, you'd have to be a somewhat eccentric and laidback person to have an eccentric and laidback car like a 1st-gen.

I agree, money talks and manners disappear.

Went to a Jaguar Club meeting recently and
all the talk was about shares and what a good financial investment their car was.

then the Jaguar folks are deluding themselves. With the exception of some very rare examples, vehicles are a horrible monetary investment.
