1st gen noob saying hi

Hello! I've been doing 2nd gens for about 4 years now. First had a '89 GXL and currently I have a 88 T2 with "things" done to it(see signature).

I recently came across a great deal on an 1st gen theat I couldn't pass up. It's a 1985 GSL stock and all orginal. Not mint by any means but still in good shape. Paid $500 for it and all it needs to run and drive is a carb. I'm leaning towards building it for auto-x.

Been doing some research and whatnot and I'm just curious as to what are the common problems with the 1st gens. Like with the 2nd gens it's primarily electrical stuff.

So, any advice?

Thanks, John

To get an idea of what are the most common things all you have to do is look at the threads on the main page. :-)
