1st Gen Body Kit Question

I was wondering if anyone has seen where to purchase this body kit?
I've looked on a couple of websites but none seem to match up. Any help would be nice.

I think you can get that, or one similiar from Mariah, but I'd be wary of putting one of those kits on a street car. They are pretty thin, and aren't really made for it.

What do you mean by thin? Are they made from different materials?
Are they easier to crack?

Racing "body kits" are made of lightweight fiberglass, generally designed to break away easily. If you bumped another car when racing and the fiberglass merely cracked partway, instead of breaking off, it could turn into a real problem...

ANyway looking at the pic, and the pop rivets I think I see at the nose, I think that is a fabricated setup.

Do you really want to do a widebody conversion? After all it does mean destroying your car - you have to cut large sections away from tje fenders for the necessarily larger tires to clear. At least if you're going to hack up an RX-7 do a V8 conversion, those are easily reversible

All race bory kits reardless of manufactuer or intended vehivcle are built very light and are used for very small time periods compared with street cars.

That is why the majority of race body kits or specific race bodies are built using carbon or kevlar cloth. I agree with RX7gsle that such a kit is not suitable for a street car. However for a Show or full race car if you like the shape and are adding the appropriate wheewls/tires; go ahead and investigate.

They're made from thin fibreglass panels. They crack easily and are difficult to attach. Often even the hood cant be "opened", it has to be pinned in each corner. Also, most of these racing only kits look good from a distance, but it's obvious that form follows function when looking at them from up close.

That Mariah kit has enlarged fenders too, but yeah... the fenders on that racer are HUGE!

I Like the Mariah widebody kits for me personally. I eventually want the mode four on my Turbo conversion.

However, I HAVE seen some REAL WIDE Body kits on local RX's around here as well. Who makes those, I haven't found any on the web. Not that I loke those, but maybe that's what he's looking for.

Any good links?

I wish I could see some more pics of these body kits from different angles.

MAZDA RX7 Style 362

I think I would like this one if the fenders were more defined instead of looking like a bubble.

MAZDA RX7 Style 361

I'm not quite sure if this is a wide body or not. It's kinda hard to tell at these angles.

Hmm, here is my thought on the subject. What would any think of a half of a wide body kit? I was once thinking of just flaring out the rear wells to allow for wider rubber in back. I was also thinking of going with the mariah hatch kit and aero wing. I wish someone could do a photoshop of that. Oh well, just my thoughts.

That kit seemed to be mix of different things. Certain parts where from Mariah, but others looked very home made. I should know... I'm the dude in the grey shirt on the right .

What the hell is that?!? lol sorry just looks weird to me.

The silver RX-7 above looks good but not enough of a defintion on the wheel fenders. I'm trying to get a hour glass shape body kit.

Now it looks like a 300Z especially with the ridiculous Supra wing on back. Nice paint job, though....

Sterling, I believe it was a Bricklin. The owner tried he's best to ignore the 10+ RX-7's that where parked near his car lol.
