1st gen with 5.0 on ebay
I must say, I have a piston rx and I like it alot. That is a very clean swap. The wheels are ugly, and the hood is horible and it sits up way to high.
Also 400hp and stock 19# injectors is just not going to happen no matter many polished parts you have.

The only way I would put a V8 in a 7 is if it was going to be a dragster.

If I cared about that anymore.
A V8 for Rallycross is a bit... extreme. More than about 200-250hp is just too much for a 2WD. What is needed is a nice, fat, looooong powerband, which conveniently enough the rotary can deliver.

I would think that after all that work the guy would have got some properly spaced rims and some decently thick rubber on the back tires, especially with a claimed 400 hp.
I'm also calling the BS flag in on the claimed 2200 pound weight of the car with full interior, heavier suspension components and a motor that is the equivalent of 2 12As.
Other than that, the motor install is very nice indeed and aside from the silly cowl hood, the car looks nice and clean.
Just not my bag...

i think he put that huge cowl on, cuz of hood clearance. the intake manifold prolly hits the hood when shut. and his huge price tag, is prolly labor that he added to make it seem like a steal.

Check out this one - with an Integra front bumper.
It's hard to tell in the pictures, but it lokgs good from these angles. Definately gives it a modern twist.
It's here on ebay too.

Welll..I'd like to have it. I have always been interested in a 5.0 in an RX just for fun. I'm sure the reserve is out there however, I wonder if he is just showing off his car and not serious about selling.
Something isnt making loigical sense.
But never-the-less I'd sure love to just see how it drives. It looks serious, personally i bet it would be a blast.
Im still a hard core purist with my SA's ( to the point opf keeping them totally stock..period)...but dont think i'd even look at that one as a RX, just a modified sports car, with a rx body.

I'm with MosesX605 that car can't weight 2200 lbs. especially with that V8 in it.
And if I was going to make a road car I would leave the rotary in it... after all this is a ROTARY Community. hahaha

And the listing was posted on his behalf through a dealer - he seriously expects to sell it.

There weight is 2400 lbs. stock and he droped in a 5.0 with all of that extra ****... I'm saying it weighs at least 3000 lbs.

Plus, the rotary is a lot heavier than it looks.

The 302 is a remarkably lightweight engine. It was designed with thinwall casting technology in mind, and Ford lightened it up even further. A bare 5.0 block weighs about 135lb. Ford switch to 50-oz/in imbalance (around the time of the switch to the 5.0 name) mainly so they could use less iron in the crankshaft. Less iron = less weight (although the 50oz-in cranks have a habit of braking at sustained high RPM). And there is a lot of weight to lose on the engine as well... the difference between aluminum heads and iron heads is *shocking*. You can swing aluminum heads around on one finger.

On that, you can be sure. 400 HP through a rear two wheel drive platform means you'll constantly be fighting the fishtail effect unless you miss the corner apex completely because the "deer-strapped-to-the-hood" effect of the extra weight up front overwhelms the grip of the pathetically small tires up front...

And the rear tires being that small means you'll just be doing smokey burn-outs anyway every time you try to "race" somebody....
