My 1st generation RX7 will crank but not start. I put a new battery in it. After cranking to try and start you can smell gas from engine area. Prior to this just happening the car was starting and driving fine on a daily basis. Any ideas would be welcomed and greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas! Thanks, Haroldredmond

 

This is the first gen section. You have a second gen based on your profile. We in the first gen section can still help though.

try in this order.

1. Ensure there is spark.
2. It could be that it's just flooded. Take the plugs out and if hey are wet, try replacing them.
3. If plugs are dry, are the injectors pulsing fuel?

 

85 is the last yr of the 1st gen. 87 will make it a 2nd gen.

 

Try some starring fluid
