1982 and 85 dashes replaceable?

Looking for a new dash/ interior etc. for my 82 and am wondering if the 85 dash fits in and uses same wiring?

Youd have to replace the shifter and center console along with it I think, but it should work.

the wiring is completely different. to use the later dash, you will have to swap in the later wiring harness and heater controls.

Okay, but the inner cluster will fit in the newer and the newer dash actually fits in the car and uses existing brackets?

i'm not sure what you're asking.. none of the S2 dash interchanges with the S3 dash.

i was under the impression that the s3 dash went into the s2, but you had to re-wire everything and use the s3 cluster. if it were simple i would have the s3 dash in my s2 since i have one in perfect condition.

yes, the S3 dash will bolt into the S2 body, but you will have to use the S3 wiring harness and heater controls.
