1981 S-model Dealer sunroof?
Hey Guys,
Had a quick question for you all:
I am probably going to do what my buddy said we could do but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue: So My FB I picked up has a nasty little habit of allowing water to pool up in the rear left and right corners, and dribble into the area where the storage bins are at.
My buddy said it would be best to just seal her up and use it as a window to the sky.
Does anyone know if there is a way to trim or add something to that area underneath the sunroof so that I can still use it in good weather?
Thanks much,

easy way to tell what model you have for 81. if it has rear disc brakes its a GSL. if it has power mirrors but no rear discs, its a GS. manual mirrors means its an S model. easiest breakdown i can give you without listing what options each grade came with.
if it has an oem sunroof it can be leaking because of two reasons. reason one would be a cracked or broken sunroof drain tube. this is a clear rubber tube that affixes to the drain outlet in the body and channels the water to the vent openings on the b pillars. they have a black plastic grate covering each side that is affixed to the body with two screws. reason two is that the tube has fallen off.
remove the b-pillar trim (where the upper seatbelt bolt is) and you may also want to remove the headliner. inspect both sides and repair as needed. forget sealing up the sunroof, its an awesome option. do the job correctly
