1981 rear caliper bracket

i stripped the threads for the lower bolt on the left side rear caliper mounting bracket. its not a huge deal as the top one is still secure. and the bolt will still seat snuggly. just any turn past a bit snug and it pops itself out and rethreads.

at most it may rattle around a bit. ive been searching rockauto etc and cant seem to find just the bracket. i dont want or need a new caliper. with the exception of a junkyard, cuz none here in lubbock have any first gens, let alone gsl's, does anyone know where i can get just a caliper bracket? or have one extra theyd be willing to sell?

thanks, Nick

i would first try running a tap through the threads and cutting new threads. see if the bolt will snug up nicely. next step is to post a want to buy ad here on the forum. i'm sure there are a lot of guys that will have a good one for sale.

ive tapped it once already. the PO used a SAE bolt so it wasnt an exact fit. i got the right bolt and tapped the hole. i did tap it again and now it just spins itself. there isnt enough thread left. so to the FS section. i keep forgetting its there. the first gen section is literally the only place i visit on here

use a longer bolt and nut, tighten it up, then weld the nut to the bracket. just one idea on fixing the problem.
