first off i want to congradulate myself for finding an excelent deal,...1981 s or gs, everythigns there perfect body, ...supposedly bad engine, 100 bucks,... interiors in good shape,.it has back seats....??!?!?WTF?!? dash is cracked to hell.... second off
what does everyone think,,,,,......im gonna hopefully post up some pics here tomarrow, im taking the back windows off for my gsl-se (non wiper hatch) and i have a horrible 98 cent tint job that came on mine with bubbles everywhere, and the crank windows for more reliable i guess you could call it ......window cranking.....lol...also stuff im gonna take off include a new drivers side door lock, and umm...i dunno anything else, maybe some of the electrical. and if im not mistaken it doesnt have a sunroof.......
parts are for sale in the for sale section.......u ship...or give me a month and ill get it running

ok heres the scoop on my car
i got it home today and guess what......74,000 origonal miles, still has the warantee book and all that stuff, one owner, im the second, i poured some gas down the carb....and it fired right up
the roughest sounding car iv ever heard....if one rotors not blown then it has incredably low compression, it knocks ?!?!?!WTF?!?!? when you stomp on it, it smoked for about 45 minutes then died down, andd get this

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
sorry for yelling, the guy said "it has a blown head gasket" i was like muhahahaha...easy prey.....

hmm... high oil pressure...

not knowing the system as well as I could, I can't really say exactly, but if there's that much pressure, the first thing I'd try is a simple oil change. Probably not the solution, but who knows? My mum doens't *check* the oil per se, she just adds half a Litre every few months.. drives me insane... some times it gets to a point on the dipstick DOUBLE the "max" point, and I'm sure it's not doing anything good to her boinger.

Start with that, and when you run it look at the oil pressure guage..

Okay now experts, let's see what can cause oil pressure to rise? anybody?

My 81 GSL didn't come with back seats since they were removed when I bought the car, but it did still have the Mazda rear selt belts intact in the original spots. What does this mean? My dash is also in km not mph.

 

ok so i found out from my warantee book (that and the owners manual in mint condition in the glove box) that the speedo was replaced in 1985, with a 130 mph speedo, and it had o.o miles on it.....so it doesnt have 74,000 origonal miles like i said above, i sat in the back seats and .......well ull be lucky to stuff maybe a small kitten back there comfortably.......it stinks like ***
im gonna strip it for all its worth
drivers seat is garbage but passenger side is flawless.....check out my post in for sale section if you need a part let me know
