1980 rx7
i payed $500 for my 79 (didn't run) and an 84 parts car. The 79 also needed some body work and some interior work. From what I've heard, it was kind of high. Look on ebay to see what thet're going for.
i gave 50 bucks for my 81, gsl, and it ran. the only thing wrong with it is the paint was a little faded, the back struts were not working, the inside had sun damage, and thats about it.i doubt if you get that good of a deal though,
$600 for my '80. It ran, but idled like crap and backfired like crazy from exhaust leaks. It had (has) badly oxidized paint and had sat in a field (read: rat crap in the interior) before someone had resurrected it long enough to sell it to the guy I bought it from.
In retrospect, it was a crap deal--$300-$400 would have been more reasonable--but it got me into 7s, so I can't really complain.

I paid $9700 for my 80. Of course that was in 1980, so I guess you can't use that as a comparison.
I paid $500 and $600 for two GSL-SE's, respectively, one in great condition and the other a little rough with a solid body. And, $750 for a second gen convertible that was in good shape, which I drive daily. If that gives you any help at all.
