1980 rx-7 a/c

Hey guys, one of the things that I really would love to have here in Texas is a 1980 with A/C. It looks like many of the parts around aren't quite what the car came with. At least all the stuff around autozone and such. The compressor that most have is the Sandem with the 2 connections going up. I have the other style with connections pointing back. Any out there rebuilt? Anyone out there rebuild them?

Also, I would like to replace the condenser, accumulator and flush the evaporator under the dash. Are any these parts available as direct fit or better parts to use R134A with? Will I have to buy whatever is out there and make fit? One of my hoses is stuck on the condenser connection so I may have to destroy my conderser to remove it.

A/C is not my strong skill and I could use some help with this one.

Thanks

Cool, thanks. I pretty much have all the components but they are in unknown condition. Any way to test the compressor out of the car?

I'm in the same boat. I removed my 80 AC awhile ago but now want to reinstall it. Went to get
new hoses made and no one could make them locally. I have the same compressor you have.

So, after some thinking, I have come to conclusion that I will get all my stuff for the AC off of
rockauto for the FB, everything including the evaporator core. All my parts are 30+ years old,
have been sitting for a few years and its not that much more to get new. The only part they
don't have is the condensor. I'm pretty sure I can source one of those from somewhere.
