ON 1979 SA Warning Lights

So clearly something wrong with the charging system all warnings light are on, tach is functioning as a voltmeter. I've got a multimeter coming in the mail tomorrow. I've just bought a brand new battery, I've replaced the alternator and I've replaced the external regulator twice.

Wanting some advice on how to troubleshoot this. Where are all the ground locations? Are there any fuses/fusible links that could effect this?

Car starts strong every time.

Just wondering what my order of operation should be.

The ground locations are battery->Drivers side struct tower->Long starter bolt. That is it. I like to run and extra ground from the struct tower to the back of the long alt bolt.

If you haven't changed the battery cables now would be a good time.

Hey really, appreciate the help! Unfortunately your instructions sound like a cryptic language to me. Do you think you could provide some photo's? What is a long starter bolt? I'll take a look at the driver side struct tower, but is it a specific wire I will be looking for?

I also have not changed the battery cables, and it will be something new to me, so I'll have to do some research on how to do that.

Just follow the negative cable (black with yellow strip). The factory negative cable has a tap that attaches to the drive side struct area that faces the engine. It then continues to the starter.

The long starter bolt is the top most bolt that attaches the starter to the transmission.

I like to buy my battery cables with preinstalled ends and not those ends that have bolts that clamp the cable. Here is the US, you have a store called Tractor Supply.

Well, I've essentially replaced the entire charging system.

New:
Regulator
Alternator
Battery
Battery Cables

None of the fuses look blown
Cleaned all the grounds.

For reference the system was working beautifully, however one day while driving down the high way the dashboard suddenly lit up. I know it was electrical, assumed it was the regulator again. II replaced it right away, but it didn't resolve the issue.

Maybe there is a short somewhere? My ability to troubleshoot electrics is limited in terms of both knowledge and equipment. I'll be taking it to a mechanic tomorrow hopefully. However if anyone has any other suggestions or things I could look at it would be really appreciated.

In the end it turned out to be a bad fuse in the cabin which compromised the whole system. I didn't know how to test these with a volt meter I only look at the fuses visually, but the mechanic ended up showing me how to do it.
