1979 RX7 SA22C 12A Engine swap into RX7 FC S5 13B Turbo

Hey there everyone!

I know that there are tons of threads out there regarding engine swaps in the first gen but i just could not understand it well enough on how to swap.
So far what I understand on the swap is to get a 12A front cover, 13B GSLE oil pan from racing beat and a engine mounting bracket from racing beat as well.

Doubts:-
1) Is that all I need for the engine swap? As in it will be able to mount it up onto the crossmember directly without additional weldings?
2) Can I continue using all the alternators and pulleys from the stock FC motor?
3) Any kind soul would share some knowledge with me? Total ameteur in automotive

Thank You in advance for the guide!

I am planning to get a standalone ECU for that. That should eliminate ignition issues right?

But my main concern is actually on how to install the engine. Is it just bolt on? Is there any chance that there are videos on youtube of it being done?

yes. with the right oil pan for the chassis, and correct engine mounts it goes in the same way the old engine did

Going standalone is a good choice and will solve a lot of issues.

The S4 and S5 oil metering has four lines as opposed to the 12a’s two lines. Also the S5 oil metering is computer controlled. You could remove the pump and premix. Or you could get a GSLSE front cover and have all four oil metering lines. Another option is get a 13bREW which has two lines and use the 12a front cover.

So I will have to do an OMP Delete and premix it after that. Correct?

not necessarily.

you're going to have to change the front cover anyway, so you can simply retain whichever mechanical MOP that comes with it. you will likely need to play with the linkage some (maybe lines as well), but not a huge deal.

Other than that, what type of cooling system do you guys recommend? I am trying to go with V-mount but unsure if it would be efficient enough. I live in a tropical country which is hot all year around.

if it were me, i would do a Gen 2 aftermarket aluminum radiator, a Gen 2 oil cooler and an NPR intercooler (or whatever similarly sized core I/C i could find) and then focus on good fans and sensible ducting. however, it's really up to you with what you want to do. you have a decent number of options since this is all custom anyway.

if you really want to v-mount, then check these: https://www.rx7club.com/search.php?searchid=16786171
