I think all 1st gen's and 2nd gen's use the same ngk spark plugs. When I checked at Kragen, they list the same plugs, even for the turbo.

Most simplest thing you can do to make it quicker would be to run Royal Purple oil through the entire car: engine, tranny, diff.

Open air/forced air intake.

Lightweight flywheel.

Not-so-simple things:
A turbo.
Change out your diff or diff gears to allow a slightly higher top speed, but you'll end up losing acceleration numbers, IIRC.

No they do work. Although if you are running a car N/A I don't know that you would see any quantitative difference between the two.

sure it will work fine, will there be a difference in performance? not likely.

edit also:

all FC run the same plug, turbo or not.

I've run 2nd gen NA leading plugs in the wb, didn't notice any difference between those or the stock ones.

The only time that it is necessary to use 2gen plugs in a first gen is if you converted to the 2gen DFIS. Even then, it is a debatable subject, and it is only the leading plugs that are changed, not the trailing. Otherwise, the first gen plugs are as good as it gets.

I have a set of spare fc plugs in the glove box just incase. They seem to flood out easy on my car anyway. Maybe becasue the fb stock ign system cant give it a good spark??? But they do work

the 9 heat range plugs are colder than the 8's speced for 1st gen. and they therefore don't burn off carbon deposits on the PLUGS as well as the 8's. Therefore the 9 plugs get 'blacker'.

i recently switched from the 9s *T2 and 3rd gen plugs) to 8s (bur8eq14)

tailpipe is not as black.

less fuel smell in exhaust.

engine starts better and accelerates better. yes, really.

u don't need a 9 heatrange plug in a n/a daily driver IMHO.

You can also get the ngk iridium plugs in 7 heat range, peoples really like them. i have a new set ready to install soon.

Best of luck.
