CA 13b questions

I'm about to buy a 84-92 n/a 13b rx7. I have a few questions. is it safe to run bridgeport as a daily driver, or would you recommend large street port.

also how do n/a streetported/bridgeported motors react to nitrous (say 50-100 shot. now i'm not going to be using nitrous daily, just once in a while here in there if I see a good challenge on the street. i'm not going to run nitrous straight either, i will use good nitrous ecu tuning designed for nitrous.)

lastly, what kind of dyno numbers are people getting with large streetport n/a 13b motors?

You will have NO torque for stoplight driving. your power band will be narrower and higher up the RPMs. every day driving would be a PITA.

If you were doing alot of interstate you might be ok. I think that this kind of porting is better suited to road racing where you are keeping RPM up.

Unless you really know what you're getting yourself into, stick with a streetport.

You may want to consider half bridge if driveability is going to be an issue. Streetport on the primaries and bridge the secondaries. You'll retain some low end that way.

Also I'm not sure if you know this, but between 84 and 92 there where two different models with N/A 13Bs. THe 84 and 85 FB chassis GSL-SE, and then the FC chassis.

S4 and S4 rotor housings and irons are not interchangeable with S3. The intake manifolds improved with each series. S3 has two injectors, S4 and S5 have four. The rotors got lighter with each series, and S5 rotors are higher-compression (9.7:1 versus 9.4:1 for S3 and S4). I'm sure someone else can give you more in-depth information.

Absolutely. Though personally I wouldn't bother with a half-bridgeport, particularly on a 6-port motor.
