13b header question

I'm picking up an 84 GSL-SE tomorrow evening. One of the first things I'd like to do is get at least a header installed to free up the exhaust. How much will this help if the rest of the exhaust is stock and will it even hook up to the stock exhaust? Will it be any louder than stock? Anyone have an entire used racing beat exhaust system for sale?

Im not sure if it hooks up to your stock exhaust since i had done my custom exhaust first. But Im pretty sure that it will be louder....

The stock exhaust system relies on the box-like exhaust manifold and the converters to reduce noise. Removing the stock manifold and converters will make it quite a bit louder, whether it's acceptable is up to you.
