13b going into a 1985 rx7

What do I need in order to complete a 13b swap into an older rx7? It has a 12a so I'm thinking it should be pretty easy. Any info can help.

Are you planning on converting the 13b to a carb or wanting to swap EFI?

Carb is much easier and simpler, EFI can be very rewarding with higher horsepower - all depends on what you're into. It basically boils down to whether you want to do wiring or not

I'd like to keep the EFI. HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO DO THAT?

Its not hard if you use a GSL-SE engine. I have done the conversion and have a lot of experience with the GSL-SE and with the conversion. What specifically would you like to know about it?

These are my two restoration threads documenting the process. They coincide with one another:

Okay so first question. Will my 12a tranny bolt up to the new 1991 13b? I've heard people saying that they should bolt up perfectly. Also I want to keep the fuel injection. What kind of wiring would I have to do? I know I need to get a newer fuel pump.. but other than that I'm sorta lost. Keep in mind that I have most of the wiring harness aswell as ecu. Will it be like a pug and play? Honestly thisay Is my first rodeo and first time I ever worked on a rotary engine myself. So if can get the most help it would be amazing.

For that later model 13B I think the mounts will be different, so you
would need to swap in a front cover to mount the engine at the same
points as the 12a or fab some mounts for the 13B engine.

Also, the wiring will not be plug n play using a 2nd gen harness. Note mazdaverx713b
said using a GSL-SE engine to swap in is straight forward, not a 2nd gen.
