Talking 13b Dry Sump Question 1st Gen

Okay guys here is the link to what im going to do or buy for my first gen drag project that is listed in my sig... Click me for 13b dry sump kit... My question is has anybody here made there own dry sump kit...and if so does he/she have pictures or something that he/she would like to share...Im almost tempted to spend $3k on the kit and call it a done deal...but if i can make my own little kit i would much rather go in that direction...

I have the MazdaSpeed dry-sump on my racecar. Veeery nice

IMHO: Get the Mazda kit, it's plug n' play.
Moroso and what other brands, needs alot of fabrication to get going.
Brackets, pulleys pick-up hose/tubes all takes up space and is a potential weak link.

Send a PM to C Ludwig in the race section. He has a MazdaComp unit he was trying to sell not long ago.

the point of this kit is to have high continuous high pressure of oil running the entire system at all times for high horse power drag cars and track cars alike that get run hard and ran fast...

Well the whole idea of a dry sump is to place the oil in another location other than the oil pan. A lot of motorcycles are a dry sump because of space and height constraints they cannot have a large oil pan scraping on the ground, so they tuck it in a can or integrate it into the frame somewhere. Being able to bring the motor closer to the ground also brings the center of gravity down for stability. AND what teddyrx2 said.

Pump ?
Only one pump fits the frontcover, Mazda's own.
Yeah You'll need to work something out with the motormounts. I used the bolts for the PS bracket and drilled/tapped the other side of the front iron.

Some random pics.

Also, You'll need to cut up your housings to make space for the oil pick up tubes.
Do this while the motor is apart or you'll have metal shavings all over your "oilpan"
